LOTD 2/20/2011

I love lazy rainy Sundays. There's something about the rain that makes me want to spend all day in bed reading while listening to mellow music, or watching old movies with a big bowl of popcorn. The downside of the rain this weekend is that it's completely messed up my internet. It took me a good 30 mins to take these pics, simply because my internet kept crashing. As you can see, the end result was kind of worth it for me (pardon my crappy pic editing! Although, the pics arent as grainy as they were before thanks to a great friend who explained how to make my graphics card settings override SL settings!).

I have to say I love  this new  hair from Magika. You cant see it, but the hair is actually quite long in the back. I saw it on someone last night and had to run to Magika to pick it up. It was simply too cute to pass up.
Because my internet is messing up, I'm going to post this before it crashes again!

Paisley goes to a party

It's not very often that I get invited out. Most days, I just bum around my home watching old episodes of soaps while playing with different looks in-world. With Valentines day just 2 days away, I really didnt feel like hanging around the general public. But, last week I was invited by my friend Ruby to her 'love yourself, fuck everyone else' party sponsored by the SLuicide Girls. Now, the SLuicide Girls are some bad ass women with major fashion skills. Nothing at all like my style and I didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb at this event.




The day of the party, I started out the day as I always do - doing yoga. Then, I spent about 4 hours shopping for *the* perfect look. I must have gone to 30 stores and spent 9k before I finally found something that felt like me.



After I was dressed, I practiced my dancing skills. I haven't gone out in ages and didn't want to get a charlie horse while surrounded by strangers. There is nothing more embarrassing than getting a kink in your hips and falling flat on your face.



Satisfied with my look and moves, I looked at the clock. Still 2 hours to go until the party. Sighing, I decided to take a nap. Shopping and dancing took a lot out of me, and I still had hours of dancing ahead of me.

Seasons Hunt Faves Day 1

Rather than try to fit everything I like so far into one blog, I've decided to do a few days worth of blogs. Now whether or not I'll actually stick to this goal is up in the air. I may have a date tomorrow *grin*, plus there were a few stores that I couldnt' find the location of the snowman! The Seasons Hunt lasts from Jan 15th to Jan 29th. If you havent done this hunt yet, you really should start. Many well known stores (and some that i'd never heard of before ) are participating, and everything I've looked at so far has not disappointed. Ok now onto the pics.

First I'd like to talk about the tattoo layer makeups that were offered by many different awesome stores. What's shown below: Kyoot's  Cateye Winter 1 and PIDIDDLE's Chapped Lips. Both stores offered several different tattoo layers, but I thought these two suited the outfit better. The eyes are also from the hunt, and are from Sur+. They are called aurora borealis, and i kinda dig em. A nice change from my usual caramel brown eyes. :)



The pic below displays one of the poses offered from Olive Juice, the skybox from True Love Never Dies, and the dress from Fall Into Decay (a store I hadnt heard of till this hunt! :) ) . I took the pic by the window because it seemed artsy-fartsy. :P



The final pic is of one of the poses from skin & bones (there are 6 poses total, 3 flat foot, and 3 en pointe) , and the chaise lounge from Art Dummy. It comes with 2 different sit locations, and 6 poses total (3 per location). I would've sat on it to show you all what poses they were, but dresses + sitting = ugly



Anyways, it's almost bedtime for me; but I hope you do decide to do this hunt! Lots of nahmmy things to grab, and you may just discover a store that will become a favorite :).

I'm dreaming of a Glam Affair Xmas

This is just going to be a quickie post to tell you three things. 1. My sister is doing well in basic. If you follow my Plurkline, i did mention she called the other day to say hi. It was very emotional, but we got 2 weeks down and 6 more to go. Time flies! 2. ALL OF MY HOLIDAY SHOPPING IS DONE IRL.. WOOT. I'm not even going to get into SL because..it'd give me hives to do any more shopping. 3. I logged on today to find the CUTEST FREAKING skin ever. Ok, I've been a LAQ and Curio girl for a while now; but I just might have to split this love three ways. I love the eyeshadow the most. It really makes my eyes pop, doncha think?

I paired it with the newish !Lamb Hair - Wild Nothings. For some reason, this hair made me want to be a readhead, and so there you are. I'm wearing the Maitreya Bodysuit in Champagne and I just thought it went well with the hair/eyes and background :P

A rl post.

I just needed to get something off my chest, and since i'm too lazy to make a RL blog, you're all stuck with the following. If you don't feel like reading, fine..it's your right.

I’ve lived my life in avoidance. Whenever something bothers me, really bothers me, I push it aside and attempt to focus on the positive. Or I transfer it onto something superficial that I don’t really give a rats ass about. My life has never been easy or pretty, although the more impacting things happened in my early adult years. An abusive relationship, a really bad night I wish I could forget, another really really bad night that I will never be able to forget no matter how much I drink, and other various ‘growing pains’ that no one should ever have to go through; I’ve learned to cope, hide my emotions, pretend it doesn’t matter. Because, if I give into that constant scream thats deep in my chest, I'll never be able to stop screaming. I play the role of the party-girl, and no one ever has to know.

I don’t think I can live my life like that anymore. My sister is joining the United States Air Force, and the closer we get to the date that she leaves for basic, the more depressed I become. I think tonight has been the worst day so far. I spoke with her for a little while tonight and all I could think is..the little girl that I changed diapers for, kissed boo-boos, intimidated any kid who made fun of her, protected from our father when he was on a rampage, taught to drive, bought her her first pack of smokes (she threw up and hasnt smoked since),  and helped pick up the pieces when her heart got broken the first time, is gone. In her place is this confident woman that I helped form. I knew she couldn’t remain a child forever, but it’s shocking to realize that, even though I still see that little girl with coke bottle glasses when I look at her, I'm seeing her with the tinted glasses that all older siblings have when it comes to the younger ones. She’s all grown up and has chosen a profession that will take her away from me. She’s not that girl anymore, and hasn’t been for a long time.

It suddenly hit me tonight that, for the first time ever, we’re going to be more than a phone call away from each other. I won’t be able to just text her to see how her day is going, or call when I just want to say hi. I’ve really taken her for granted in the last (almost) 20 years. I know this is something that she really wants, but I can’t help feeling that it’s not fair. Through everything, all of the things mentioned at the beginning of this post, Tiffany has been a constant source of comfort and strength. If I were honest with myself, I would admit that she helped me more than I helped her..But I'm sure she'd disagree.

CoCo and Pig and Lamb, Oh mai!

Oh hai der! So in the last couple weeks, I think I've spent way more than any sane woman should in SL. I needed some major shop-therapy, so instead of running around town IRL and stressing, I decided to make my therapy virtual. I really should get a SL job or uhh..get to working on some poses to sell or something; because I need to have enough L$ to support my need to stimulate the SL economy allll by my self!

I finally broke down and bought myself a skin from LAQ. I will say, it is worth every damn L I spent; I looove my face with this skin. I was going to get Claudia2, but instead decided Tess2 looked much better with my shape. I'm not one for shape tweaking to wear certain skins. If i can't wear it and be cute instantly, I won't bother buying it. Just an FYI for skin makers; pleaase make lips like these. (note: i'm not telling you to rip them and slap em on your skin, but seriously make more pouty lips!!).

I also picked up Lamb!'s latest release, Cinnamon. It comes with an alphalayer for your head, which removes your ears and whatnot, so you dont have to wear a 'small ear' shape. I chose darker colors for the autumn/winter season. For some reason, darker hair just looks better during this time of year.
My last large-ish purchase for the month was CoCo's Engineer boots. While I was trying to come up with an outfit that went with the boots, i found that it's actually a pretty versatile pair of shoes. I stomped around naked for a while (in the privacy of my skybox, obviously) and looked fashionable.

Meanwhile, I've decided Pig is going to be my go-to store for cute tops. I got a super cute cardigan in a recent hunt, and ran back the other day to grab the nahmy cardi above, as well as the knee-sock fatpack.

So all in all - I think I did pretty good this month!

Sorry for the lack of linkage, while I was posting; my region went down and I can't log back into sl!

I'm a little bit country, y'all.

If you're on my Plurk FL, you probably know that I am not the kind of girl that rocks the cowboy boots, but I just had an urge today to wear something western..Namely, cowboy boots.  Perhaps its some sort of throwback because my family is very much redneck/hick/cowboy/whatever you wanna call it. Growing up, if it wasn't Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks or George Straight,  Dolly, Reba or Ms Twain; IT WASN'T MUSIC.  My parents are..well.. they're pretty special. My Mom's idea of a christmas gift is a new pair of Wranglers and some sort of Levi teeshirt that manages to look like a pair of stain washed jeans.  My Dad's idea of the perfect man for his 'little girl'  is someone who has a great appreciation for country music and hunting.. and someone who drives a beat up truck and...well i wont go on. But, they're my parents and I love them to death.

Today, I actually enjoy some country music; but actually prefer folk sounding country with more substance than 'you broke up with me and stole my dog'.



If you've seen RL pictures of me, you'll notice I do not look like the prim and proper (almost) preachers kid. But in SL I can be! .. I wonder if they'd let me use this picture instead of taking one for the christmas family picture. *ponders* Probably not cuz I've got wayyy to much boobage going on. Oh well!
